hope and DREAM and magic - nnnv ➡ Hase 🌱

The good

  • The concept of putting 2 separated text groups with the joint "It's a dream" in the middle, reinforced with dream imagery. I'd say that's the selling point of this artwork.
  • I learned a lot about some basic Illustrator operation with repeating pattern.
  • The 4 cute icons in the top right.
  • Improvement in posing choice (not just people standing anymore) <= Biggest improvement!
  • The designing process in Illustrator is getting a bit faster now.

The bad

  • The many problems listed inWeakness of Poster Commission are still there
    • losing willpower towards the end of the commission so the graphic design stays within the comfort zone, and doesn't feel new and explorative enough.
    • still spending too much time on non-drawing tasks: thinking about the content of the text and how it would relate to the artwork.
  • Some parts in the character drawings look inconsistent, the distribution of details and render level is still uncontrolled
    • mostly because I haven't found a good way to control big strokes and drawing while zoomed out.
  • The stylized building BG serve its purpose but maybe could use some more visual treatment. Right now, it looks rather basic.
  • I couldn't achieve the intended composition: left heavy, to focus more on the characters. The visual weight of the typography is heavier than I intended because of the overall shape and size of the group.
    • the Left to Right order of the the text kinda break the intended flow (lower right to upper left), maybe I should have flip the artwork.
