Slower week but it's ok
For the first time in a very long time, the week feels longer that it actually is!

Work & Art

sketch
  • this Suisei fanart is almost done so cropped version only
  • this week Abstract Scribble, experiment with soft brush + watercolor brush for a faux impasto effect similar to LUNCH

Practice review

  • visualize plane change and angle change in space is such useful skill
  • clean lines need more thoughts and preplanning before each strokes

Thinking about Art Development

  • Style formation
    • current problem: regarding the combination of Graphic Design/Typography + Illustration, I'm stuck with this specific configuration:
      • High detail/polished artwork with clean graphic design elements made with non-destructive effect
        • It's a cool combination and I certainly haven't explored it all.
        • But for this year I don't want to focus too much on the procedural/generative FX (photoshop illustrator and other software)
        • I want more freeform, drawn graphic treatment, similar to 052 (should make a page to collect this kind of look Freeform graphic treatment🌱). Things that I could do solely by drawing or tools inside CSP.
        • next year I will look more into visual making process in other program.
        • I'm currently disinterested in doing vector because my mind is occupied with drawing!

  • kaede nose overlapping the eye. The contrast of dreamy, decorative quality of the eye and clean form, 3d-like (1 big shape) of the nose. the high placement of the nose and the size of the eye works really well together so that the overlap effect can occur in such a normal camera level. If I were to replicate this with my face style, I would have to use a low angle (like redjuice) or extreme wide lens (like yoneyama mai).
